Weakened cervix following section

I had a c section in 2021 when i was fully dilated. I am now pregnant with my second and at my first midwife appointment she told me that due to my first birth I will need to see a consultant in the next few weeks where they will check my cervix as a fully dilated section increases the risk of future labours being pre term. It hadn't really sunk in so I didn't ask questions and now worrying a bit. Has anyone else had this and can let me know what happens? I have continued to exercise but presuming this will have to stop?

Hi, I was told the same at my first appointment. They did 3 scans of my cervix (I think weeks 16, 20 & 24) to check it and all was fine. I think it’s mostly a precaution but if they do find anything that needs monitoring it’s picked up nice and early and can be treated if needed. I wasn’t told to stop doing anything unless I had any bleeding, but best to ask when you next see your midwife.

@Katie thank you 😊
