Hi, I was in the same situation as u. My little one started nursery last September 2023. Staff have really worked so hard with her to encourage her speech. She is also speech delay. By now, she has started speaking in one word and other times sometimes in two words like "where gone," etc. She is getting there. We are working with her. I'm on the waiting list since February. Hopefully, we will get the news very soon! Once she turns three, if there are no signs of speech and hearing test letter, I will definitely contact the health visitor for an update. Keep reading books to her, and communicate with her. Keep doing it, and you are doing so well xx

Hey Chelsie! My son is the same age as your daughter and he still has no speech either. The only words he says are ‘mum, yes & no’ literally that is it 😓 He will communicate by pointing and I’ve also started doing mackton with him. We had a speech and language assessment with him, over the phone and they had no concerns about him which was good in a way but also frustrating as every other child in his class in nursery is speaking he just seems really far behind. Sorry no help and I don’t have any advice on hearing tests 😔 I hope you get seen by someone soon 🫶🏻

I would express your concerns to your HV x

My little guy is 28 months and still no words. Not even mama. However, his big brother is 4 in July and he had zero words until he turned three and now he does not stop!!! I feel nursery helped him tons, so now my youngest boy has just started nursery two weeks ago I’m holding out hope he’ll not be far behind. I’m giving it until he turns three before I stress too much. Health visitor saw him last week and agrees waiting is fine x
