Kidney Stones vs Childbirth

I’ve always heard that passing kidney stones hurts more than childbirth, but it always came from men who obviously have no idea what it feels like to give birth. That being said, everyone’s experience is different. When I gave birth, I had an epidural, but felt as though I could’ve lasted longer without one. My labor and delivery was, I think, fairly easy compared to others, and if I have to pass a kidney stone, I’d imagine it would hurt more for me. So, my question is, if you’ve had an unmedicated birth and passed kidney stones, which was more painful?

I will be honest. Kidney stone pain is no joke. It comes in suddenly and last long. When I had a stone it woke me up from sleeping and I started vomiting. After a week still in very bad pain they took it out surgically because it was stuck in my ureter. During that whole time I would say I’d rather give birth and I had an unmedicated one before. At least that pain you know will end very soon verses a kidney stone.

I definitely say it hurts more than childbirth, I didn’t have kidney stones but I had gallstones and that pain was traumatic, I’d rather go through childbirth 10,000 times then have to go through that again, but luckily I got my gallbladder removed x

I have said many times, I’d rather give birth 20 more times than to ever have another kidney stone. That pain is something else. I’ve had three kids and my last was pretty much unmediated because my epidural was botched lol it was awful but the kidney stone I had a few years later was worse. I thought I was dying lol.

That was my next question actually. I’ve had my appendix taken out and it was painful but not that bad. I have a high pain tolerance. My parents had their gallbladders taken out a year later and a month apart from each other. My dad said that that pain is worse than birth, but my mom couldn’t remember the pain from childbirth and got the epidural right away both times. My dad also has a high pain tolerance and my mom doesn’t. I always thought that the gallbladder would feel similar to the appendix, so I was kinda calling bs.

No I had unmediated birth and I would rather go through that over and over than ever have to feel the gallstone pain again x

I'd rather give birth than have kidney stones again.
