I'm using a childminder when i go back to work in September and yes for us it will be cheaper. My little girl will be going 25 hours a week and with the free hours we will be paying just over 200 a month. X
You don’t have to be ofsted registered. Some childminders are but you don’t have to be
@Lisa Thanks! I just looked up online and a childminder does seem to be more economical option. Is there a way I can read more about the prerequisites to be considered whilst looking up for one, especially because we will leave our child alone in the house while we go to work which some how makes me nervous 😓
@Nicola huh?! It's illegal not to be registered with OFSTED if caring for a child under 8 for more then two hours a day for payment. You could also face prosecution for using an unregistered childminder. Also why would even entertain using one?!
@Rochelle I'm not sure. I knew my childminder so got her a place when I was pregnant. How old is your other child. I'm going to have to do the same. I have a 12 year old and will be leaving 20 mins every day before he does so will have to trust him to lock up. 🤦♀️
@Lisa So helpful if you know the childminder. I am a first time mom and will start in June as soon as she completes 9 months 😊
We are considering a nursery as both me and my husband will be working from office. Would childminder or nanny be cheaper than a nursery?
