Hospital bag

I am starting to prepare my hospital bag. What are some must stuff for myself and the baby? I haven't really added much to the bag. Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Nail clippers, sleepers and nipple balm if you plan to breastfeed

Shower shoes, comfortable robe and PJ, sound machine. Sleeping mask if you like they. Little night light so you don’t have to turn on all the bright light when up to feed the baby.

@Victoria sound machine?

@Ariel yes I wish I’d brought one to drown out some of the noise

I’m on my second baby I’m my opinion you really only need a pair of clothes for the baby, a pair of clothes for you, maybe a towel and soap if u plan on showering there but at home showers are better in my opinion, postpartum essentials such as disposable underwear, pads, witch hazel wet pads, dermoplast spray and a peri bottle, if you plan on breastfeeding bring your breast pump, a bottle of water and that’s rly all u need in my opinion everything else isn’t essential and more of just other things u feel like u might want but for me being on my second baby I definitely want to bring much less

@Victoria oh OK. That doesn't sound like a bad idea

@Jocelynn (Jay) sounds straight forward essentials

Call your l&d see what they provide and go from there also make sure you have an empty bag to take stuff home I would take a folder I had about of papers and a gallon bag or self sealing laminating page to put to footprint in so Ink won't run Charger A insulated Cup Shower shoes Deodorant Lotion Baby just some mittens so they don't scratch face, outfits tbh Some ppl like the depends but I wasn't a fan I just took a lot of those mesh panties and pads home from the hospital they were so comfortable to me
