My little one is bottle feeding and has been taking 4oz since he was about 2 weeks old. The last week he has finished 4oz every time and is getting hungry sooner than 2 hours. Everything online is saying babies should only be having 3/4oz until they are 2 months. Should I up him to 5oz or feed more frequently?? I don’t want to over feed him and the HV tell me it’s wrong but also don’t want to under feed him?? Help🫣😂

Follow baby.
If he’s finishing the bottles, try making 1ox extra next time.
You might find sometimes he only has 2 or 3 sips more and he’s done.
But always follow hour baby, and remember stuff you read online is a guide.

Id like to add, just checked my sons milk and its says on the side “4-8 weeks guide is 5oz 5 times within 24 hours”

Thankyou so much that’s put my mind at ease❤️😅I hate googling but as a first time mum I’m very much guilty for it 😅😅

Honestly I would follow baby’s lead. My daughter was having 5oz bottles each feed at 5 weeks. The HV said it was fine. She then went back to 3/4oz bottles at 7 weeks and I was super stressed about the drop thinking she was refusing to feed - nope, she’d just had a super hungry phase, probably a growth spurt.
So yeah follow baby’s lead and you may well find they reduce the amount themselves again. 💕

Always follow baby and your instincts. You’re mum, you know your baby more than anyone else.
And I always say, try it. Try it, and if it doesn’t work or it gets wasted, you can always go back to what you were doing before!!

Mine was the same at that age and I just learned over time to follow what they want. HV and doctors said I was over feeding him.. I wasn’t😂 he wanted it so I wasn’t going to starve him lol. Follow baby’s lead xx

Could be because of growth spurt. If baby wants to drink that amount normally, there is nothing wrong with it.
