Happy Spitters

I need some advice or if anyone else has a happy spitter…my baby is five month old and constantly spits up all day never in pain so I know it’s normal reflex but is there anything that anybody is doing that is helping their baby spit up less? It’s really frustrating especially when we are doing tummy time and she just spits up a puddle we go through so many clothes a day I can’t keep track. I know they spit up less once they start eating solid foods and as they get older but any advice would be helpful thank you!

My son is doing the same. If he giggles or even smiles it just oozes out of his mouth 😂 I figure the more time he stays upright the less he will spit up. Just a phase unfortunately

@Liv ugh right! Think I change my clothes as much as my daughter does a day lol I set her up for at least 20 minutes after every bottle, but I feel like it doesn’t really help

@Amber we also are drooling SO BAD lol currently he has 1 sleeve and 1 pant leg that's dry on his outfit as we speak 😂 I have these really nice drool bibs that soak up a ton of liquid so usually I can swap that out a couple times before needing to change clothes lol I just don't have nearly enough to last more than 2-3 days

@Liv ooo girl I have so many drool bibs too lol. The laundry is insane! Glad to feel like I’m not alone❤️

could’ve written this myself. my son spits up SO much but is never in pain. we struggled with weigh gain in the beginning but now he’s gaining weight but still spits up no matter how long we sit him up for or what we do! he starts daycare monday and i’m like 😅 i’ll just bring you guys his whole wardrobe because he goes thru MINIMUM 5-6 outfits a day

@Ryann yes we also struggled with weight gain in the beginning. She seems to be gaining weight now since we’ve changed her formula. Yes I know your pain. It’s literally all day long. I go through about three outfits a day! Oh my Gosh, lol so funny and sad at the same time🥲😂

@Amber switching to formula is what helped my son gain weight too! i feel so bad that he doesn’t do enough tummy time throughout the day but it’s soooo difficult when the second we place him down he’s getting the whole mat wet 😵‍💫

@Ryann it feels so good not to feel alone in this! it is so hard. I basically know once she’s done on her play mat that I’m gonna have to wash it.

@Liv what bibs do you use? I'm currently looking for some more absorbent ones because we have the same issue over here!

Is it curdled or creamy milk?

@Kayley a little of both I would say!

@Amber curdled usually is old milk, so say you feed babe and then immediately lay him down for a nap then after nap pick him up and he spits up curdled milk it’s usually from not processing while laying down. Creamy is from being fed too much.

It does start to decrease with solids my son was a spit up machine but now it's maybe once or twice a day, bibs helped a lot so we didn't have to do a full outfit change every time
