Suffering from thrush

Has anyone suffered from thrush when pregnant? I’m sure it’s completely normal, but I’m just anxious as this is my first pregnancy and it’s a high risk too! What does everyone else take to treat thrush during pregnancy?

Hey. I gave birth to my first in march 2024 and had thrush a few times during the pregnancy. The midwife gave me cream and a tablet type hing that goes into the vagina. Just speak with your midwife or a pharmacist.

If you go to a pharmacy and let them know you’re pregnant they’ll prescribe the canestan pessary. Don’t use the applicator just use your fingers as you don’t wanna go too high up and close to the cervix. Best part is it should be free for you! I had it a few weeks ago and it cleared up almost straight away

@Millie thank you! I was just worried as I’m now not seeing my midwife until 15th may. But I till contact her

@Jessica thank you! I’ll go in tomorrow

No worries. But yes you can go to a pharmacist too!

Im high risk too and i have had thrush 3 times, strep come up, oral thrush and 3 utis and on my third lot of antibiotics noe and taken 3 pk of pessaries twice. Taking the antibiotics scares me but its needed. I just call the gp and get then to orescribe me pessaries for free and they always say if things arent ok x

Oh my goodness that’s horrid, hope you’re over the worst of it 🤞 yes antibiotics would worry me too but they know best!! Thank you 🙏
