Car seat padding

Has anyone taken the padding parts out of your babies car seat yet? I have the oyster3 car seat / travel system and it says on the padding parts 40-60cm. My baby looks really squished in it so I’ve measured her and she’s 63/64cm long. She’s 4 months old on Thursday and has good control of her head. I’ve just took all the padding out but now I feel shes abit exposed. Anyone else took it out yet? Ignore her moody face, pic to show how it looks x

I have same car seat, I took the sides out but left the head seat in because I found when I was driving his head always ended on a slant and I dident like that Won’t take the head part out till his head control is 100%

I adjusted the insert so that my baby’s shoulders aren’t squished in the head padding 🤣 but she’s so big…I’m gunna have to take it all out soon!

@Aisling it’s her head that is the most squashed, that’s what’s made me take it out 😢

@Kassia they grow so fast though don’t they! Just want them to stay small forever 🩷😢 x

@Charley oh bless, sometimes I move the head part up a bit before putting him in, my little boy also looks a bit squashed but he doesn’t seem upset and still sleep in it so just leave it in for his own safety

I did this today! My little one is quite rotund though. I left the head but in place but took the padding bit for the body out.

I took my LB out around 9 weeks as he was over 60cm! Think they just look bigger in it as they were so squishes before! X

@Charley yes! It is crazy. I keep going through clothes like crazyyyy

Yes because he looked so squashed in it and his feet were touching the actual car seat

We've taken ours out, little boy is 14 weeks old x

My son had his in until he was 7 months. The height limit on the inserts means that it must be in until then and is fit dependent afterwards but snug is best. You might want to double check the harness height, it looks like it's coming out too high since you've taken the insert out. The harness should come out level with baby's shoulders and the shoulder pads should be on baby's shoulders 😊

@Sammi Feet touching the seat isn't a problem 😊

@Jess on our doona says it's up to 5kg. I took it out when he was almost 6.5kg. Ive seen he hated being so much squeezed. Now he enjoys car rides much more as earlier he was so grumpy until he eventually fell asleep

@Jess there wasn't anything about height tho 🤔

@Anetta Ayesha Yeah the doona has a weight limit on the insert instead of height
