My daughter (4yrs old) is going to be the flower girl at her cousins wedding (who is much older than her). Her dad and I are still married but separated (not legally) and are definitely headed for divorce (the only thing stopping us are finances right now). I don’t really care about being at the wedding for anything else other than my daughter is going to be the flower girl and probably the only time in her life she will be one. I designed their wedding cards (never got compensated because I wanted to gift it to them). I poured my heart and soul into it and how I even packaged and presented it to them as well. I printed it for them and didn’t charge for that either. Not to brag, but their cards were very high end. I never got an invite. Not a card or a text. Yet I’ve been asked to update the evites with a few times till now and I’ve always done it with a smile and no problem. When I last saw the bride in person (last month), she verbally told me that if I’m comfortable I can come to the wedding and that she would talk to my husband about it to make sure he’s ok with me being there. The wedding is 3 weeks away. I asked her last week if she talked to him she said no and that she’d get her fiance to do so. So I waited and didn’t hear anything from her and decided to text her this morning. She said that my husband was not ok with me being there and she apologized and thanked me for everything. I don’t know how I should feel. But I do know that I feel really hurt and kicked out of his family while we share a beautiful princess when I have done absolutely nothing to disrespect or harm his family. Mainly I’m upset because I’m not going to see my daughter be a flower girl for the first time ever (and probably only time too). How would you feel/react if this was you in my shoes?

Leave it God.

@Sela Hardie sorry I don’t think I understood. Did you mean leave it to god? Or to leave the situation alone?

It's her wedding and if she wanted you to be there, she should need to ask your son to be ex. It is what it is, and try and accept this will be the norm going forward
