Car seats

Hey guys, I am currently looking for a new car seat for my little one. He has the maxi cosi lightweight car seat just now that I can lift out and put onto his pram. I’m looking for a swivel car seat now that will just stay in my car and do him for a good few years. He’s getting too big for his car seat now and to be honest he’s just getting too heavy to carry in it 😂 He’s 17 weeks so I need one that will do from 0+ . I have looked at the Joie ispin 360 but there’s just so many options I don’t even know where to start🤯 Any recommendations would be much appreciated 🫶🏽

We have the silver cross motion all size 360 and love it. Also looks super secure and safe - we’ve had our little one in it since he was a newborn

It depends how big your son is as to the best option. 360 seats typically will last until around 4yo - but if you have a child that’s bigger/taller then it won’t last as long. I have the Joie 360 for my toddler and it’s fab, he’s tiny though (<25th centile), so it’s likely to last him the full 4y and probably a bit more. My January baby is massive 😂 (90th+ centile) so I’m planning to get an ERF seat that goes up to 25kg (as opposed to the joie which is only 18kg) - not as convenient as a swivel one has been, but will save me money! (And the Swedish tested ERF are best choice for safety)

Defo join the car seat safety group! They’ll be able to recommend the most safest seat for your baby’s percentiles xx

I have the maxi Cosi pearl 360 which is good from 3 months plus without the newborn insert x

Have a look on car safety uk fb page. They were really helpful. There's some unhelpful people too😅

Your baby won’t be too big for his infant carrier as my 2 year old still fits in his, it’s recommended to max them out or use them for a good 9-12 months until your baby’s centiles settle and you have a better idea on how they grow so you can get the best rear facing seat for their height and weight which will last them to a safe age of around 5 before forward facing in a high backed booster. If the infant carrier is getting too heavy just treat it like a fixed seat and just leave it in the car that’s what I do with my little girl and she’s only 10lb 🤣😅 xxx

I have the Silvercross motion All size 360 in my car and my mum has the Joie i-spin 360 in hers. I like them both. The Silvercross feels a lot more sturdy. The the Joie is a lot easier to use, it spins like a dream, whereas the Silvercross seems a bit stiff. The straps on the Silvercross can also be a pain, they get stuck/twisted very easily. My girl is 98% percentile and I know she'll fit in both for a long time. If had to choose again - i would choose the Joie 360. For the price, test result and ease of use!

@Megan thanks for letting me know about that group, will have a little look xx
