Advice for a calm and positive birth experience

Previous shoulder dystocia with episiotomy and ventouse delivery in 2018 that was completely traumatising followed by an elective c section in 2019. Due in July and trying for a vbac. Any tips for staying in control during labour, staying calm and focused and keeping the experience positive? I will not be having an epidural and tbh I’d rather avoid any pain meds that are going to result in me not being fully with it. Thank you!

Highly recommend the Positive Birthing Company to learn about techniques for remaining calm and positive, but also providing you with information to make informed decisions. I watched it with my husband so that he too knew what it was about and could advocate for me if needed. I did it back in 2020 with my first and intend to refresh myself this time around too. It’s all online. We streamed it from our phone onto the telly and just watched it together when we had time in the evenings.

I swear everything is done to breath work! I focused a lot on my breathing second time around and labour was so much more controlled! I did find the gas and air made me loose control abit. Also tens machine was amazing I really underestimated how much it could help!

The Birth Uprising is a great hypnobirthing company and has an online course you can do. Would highly recommend ❤️
