My little boy was born exactly 39 weeks and was 5.8lbs (2.6kg) he’s currently 8 weeks and now weighs 9.7lbs (4.4kg) and both the GP and health visitor have said to keep an eye on his weight over the next few weeks as he’s small but that he’s steady on the percentile he’s on…?! Finding this very confusing and not sure if I should be worried or not? He hasn’t dropped any weight since birth and only gained, he’s healthy in every other way so just curious to see if anyone’s been told a similar thing?

My baby was born at 37 plus 3 and weighed 6lb 11 and at nearly 9 weeks weighed 10.1lbs and the gp said that he was fine so I wouldn’t worry personally x

My baby was born just over 39 weeks at 6lb 13 oz. He got weighed last week at 8 weeks he was 8lb 9oz and the health visitor said I didn’t need to worry and that he was fine. I’m EBF and I asked whether I needed to introduce some FF but they said no and that I should carry on as is. My boy seems happy and healthy too. I wouldn’t worry either xx

My daughter is 8 weeks old tomorrow and was weighed yesterday she’s 11lbs 4oz she was born at 38+5 weighing 7lbs 8oz

My baby was weighed yesterday at 5weeks+4 and weighs 9lbs 1oz🥴 she was born at 40+4 weighing 7lbs 10oz

I would say that’s quite a good weight gain he just started smaller. My little boy started chunky at 3.9kg and has just been weighed today at 8 weeks and is 5kg exactly so although still bigger has gained over half a kg less than your little one in the 8weeks ☺️

My girl was born same weight at 37weeks and at just over 8weeks was 9.6lbs, so almost the same timeline/percentile, clinicians and heath visitors happy with that so I wouldn’t worry. If he drops below the percentile then that might be something to worry about but he sounds alright to me :) x
