@Sophie that’s what I told him and he said he never did. But the letter says X said he is not the father of Tom
That is wrong on so many levels. Not sure how the courts work in your country but in the US they will order someone to take a paternity test in these cases.
Get a test.
Well I didn’t put him on the birth certificate due to his abuse so that’s his way of putting me in my place. I don’t feel like I should do a dna without the court saying I should but then again I won’t get any further support from him @Sophie @Samantha it’s so wrong
Follow legal advice on this. You can definitely prove his paternity but don’t do it on your own.
I’m kind of in the same predicament right now. Haven’t had my baby yet but left bd due to abuse and I’m not sure if I should even put him in the certificate either 😭 good luck, I hope you can come to the best decision for yourself and little one.
Omg denying your child because he don't want to pay CMS is absolutely crazy. Is he on the BC?
Did some research on this given my situation! In England, the father you have stated on your CMS application legally has to pay child maintenance, DNA test already done or not. The only time the payments stop would be if he did a legal DNA test which proved he isn’t the father.
https://www.gov.uk/child-maintenance-service I found this useful
If he's denied being the parent, they will expect him to do a DNA test that he will have to pay for. If he refuses to take a DNA test, cms will just assume he is the parent and he will be required to pay.
Girl you best prove paternity through the courts and get him on child support! I am so sorry he did that. Horrible.
@Becky he hasn’t paid anything in months
@Lauren he isn’t on it as he was abusive towards me and baby
@Aggs what do you mean?

Have CMS told you how much he should be paying also getva DNA test done because once that proves he's the dad he has legal obligation to pay
@Lauren he knows he’s the dad. Why ask for dna?
Because if he isn't paying you can take him to court show them to dna test and they make him pay he can't refuse
if you have proof of the abuse you can still get the test to establish paternity, then file for child support and full custody. they likely wont give him visitation if he 1) denied the child 2)has a history of abuse. i’d get in contact with legal council though so they could give you more specific advice
no you weren’t and keep the evidence ! xxx
Deneying your own children is CRAZY
