No feeling of movement

Hi everyone! So I’m currently 25 weeks and 5 days and not felt my little one move at all, I was told I had my placenta at the front but have now been told by my midwife I should still feel her when did everyone first feel their babies and is this normal?

I also have a pain in my top/ front left position of my tummy but is also painful to touch has anyone else experienced this again midwife didn’t seem too concerned.

Thank you! 🩷

When I haven’t felt baby move the midwife team have recommended I go in and get checked, they’ve then used a Doppler to check baby’s heartbeat. Have they not recommended this? It might be worth going in.

It’s hard to say what’s normal I guess everyone’s bodies are different but I felt baby move from 19 weeks

I’ve got anterior placenta and only started feeling baby move with kicks at 22 weeks, but everyone is different and depends on location. Baby still has quite a bit of room in there too. They could be hiding out somewhere you can’t feel just yet. I couldn’t feel baby at all at 20 weeks and was told could be up to 26 weeks before I felt anything esp with placenta being at the front. However if your midwife is saying that you should be feeling something by now then I’m suprised they haven’t asked you to come in to monitor if you’ve said you can’t feel anything. I’d ring your midwife and ask to be seen as a precaution/reassurance.

Definitely get this checked, do not hold back xx I’m 24 weeks tomorrow x I thought I felt my baby stop moving but she put the Doppler on my belly and heard his heart beat, she then told me to drink something very cold to startle the baby this should get baby to move which it did! But definitely get it checked please ! Don’t hold back

I am 24+4 and have an anterior placenta, but have felt downwards kicks for around 4 weeks now. Only the last 2 weeks I have felt pokes at the side, but have never felt anything where I’m told my placenta is. Is this your first baby? Absolutely always worth checking regardless! X

Hello there,

I have an anterior placenta and I am 23 weeks and 5 days pregnant. I have only started feeling movements recently.

best to call the triage when in doubt.

try eating or drinking something with a moderate natural sugar content to help get the baby's movements active.
