Progesterone after MC

Hi lovely firstly I'm so sorry you're going through this again. I have 1 son who is 5 and had no problems conceiving at all.
I then went on to have 2 miscarriages and when I found out I was pregnant a 3rd time I had my HCG bloods taken and checked and as they were above 1500 at 5 weeks I was able to be scanned to check where the pregnancy is. Alot of places won't give you progesterone until this scans been checked some will though, after that scan was complete I stayed in the hospital and insisted I left with progesterone suppositories. I was using these rectally until 18 weeks and I'm now 23 weeks today with my double rainbow baby!

I would say push for them! I didnt have my progesterone checked or anything had just done a lot of research and insisted. I also started taking baby asprin as soon as I found out I was pregnant as research said that would help.

I’m so sorry for your losses❤️ I’ve had 4 and I’m currently 9w2d pregnant with baby looking healthy so far. This time around I was told to take 100mg of progesterone daily by mouth after ovulation and then once I found out I was pregnant my doctor changed it to 400mg twice a day vaginally. She also started me on one baby aspirin a day (81mg). I think it definitely intensifies pregnancy symptoms especially when you first start taking it and it can cause spotting when you do vaginally so don’t be freaked out if that happens! It’s a common side effect. I did spot but I started inserting it not so close to my cervix and that helped stop the spotting. I wish you the best of luck in the future ❤️

I had 2 miscarriages and then got the chance to have progesterone at next positive pregnancy test. I got the positive in 2022 and went on to have a healthy baby who has just turned a year old. Now 20 weeks pregnant and have had progesterone from 4 weeks for this pregnancy too.

I had 4 in a row. I was only given progesterone when I started bleeding on my 6th pregnancy. Other things to ask are if you need to be taking folic acid. I hope your tests go well ours were inconclusive and I am now pregnant so it is possible 💖💐

Did the progesterone heighten your pregnancy symptoms or have different effects?

So sorry you’ve had to go through this! I had three miscarriages last year and I’m now 15 weeks pregnant and all seems to be going well 🤞🏻 as soon as I had a positive test I was referred to the EPU by my doctor. I had a scan at 6 weeks and was put on cyclogest pessaries from then. I think you can take it orally or via injection but the consultant told me the pessaries are the most effective 🙃 I really don’t love having to take it - it’s messy…! But as long as it keeps the baby safe I’ll do what I’m told!! I don’t think it’s had an impact on my symptoms.. maybe more blocked up sinuses than normal but not really anything else.
