My baby has just turned 5 months old and has had solid poos now for a while they don’t hurt him but you can see he’s struggling, I have not introduced him to solids at all and have followed guidelines for example giving 2oz of water if constipated, I don’t know if he’s constipated or if this is normal as he’s getting bigger. His last bottle on a night time too he has been leaving 2oz out of a 6oz bottle, this isn’t all the time but does happen and has happened since his poo has been like this on and off. Has anyone experienced this at all and know what’s going on?

I was literally just about to make a post about this myself! My girls 5 months on Saturday and for the past few weeks she’s been really struggling and we’ve been having to help her get it out and she’s crying in a lot of pain. We’ve been doing the extra oz or so but whenever we do she won’t finish that bottle. I just started today giving her prune puree. I haven’t told my HV as she’s been ignoring all my messages and on the last visit when I brought it up just said add water don’t give any foods until 6 months. I gave her the puree this morning and she’s just went there on her own. Still solid and sore but without our help which is a step in the right direction as I don’t want her to depend on us helping her to go. I’m calling the drs tomorrow to try hopefully get some answers so will update you! 🥰

My baby is only 2 months but she was having constipation and I started giving her probiotics and it had helped her so much she’s no longer struggling and in pain
So strange! I don’t know if this means he is ready for solids and his stomach is now breaking down everything he should or whether something is wrong and he doesn’t cry in pain just struggles to actually get it out. I rang the HV and didn’t really get a response either was just to give him 2 oz of water but this hasn’t worked and just goes back hard again! He was so consistent with going to the toilet everyday and now it’s every two!
Hope your LO gets the answers she needs and gets sorted! I may have to book a gp appointment but his tummy is not hard so I’m not sure what else they can apart from what the HV has advised!🫶🏼
