We live on a second floor with a railing that toys can easily escape through and I am thoroughly stumped as to how to keep my 2.5 year old entertained without exploring the planters or climbing all over us and the window sills. We have bubbles readily available at all times, but would really love some other suggestions!

Lining the railing floor with potted plants is an idea. I have a balcony too and we love to spend time out there in the sun. Chalk! Bubbles, as u know, sometimes we bring books out there. I let him water the plants sometimes. He's 3

My son has a bouncing turtle thing he loves as an alternative to the option with wheels.

We have a giant dumpster truck my son pushes around. Got it at Walmart at Christmas. It’s on clearance now

They sell banners you can tie to the balcony to stop this very thing from happening
We’ve considered them! But we’re replacing the railing next year and would rather not spend the money since the balcony is so long.
