I had my baby early (26 weeks), and am currently dealing with the grief of losing the last trimester of my pregnancy. It was my first, and I can't stop thinking about all I'll miss. I didn't have a shower. I didn't get to experience the kicks you feel on the outside. It hurts to think about.
My best friend is also pregnant, we were about 8 weeks apart. I am absolutely dreading the planning and going to her shower. I hate that I feel like this, as I adore her and am so excited and happy for her. But the thought of going to a shower for her, one that should have come after one for me honestly feels like a punch to the gut. I won't be telling her this, I'll be going no matter what. But it's destroying me to think of. Anyone ever experience this before?

Not the same but my bff had a miscarriage 2 weeks before my baby shower. After trying for a whole year to get pregnant. She still came but I would have totally understood if she did not.
You could always skip it and celebrate with her at another time. I’m sure she would want you to take care of your mental health first and foremost.

I would still communicate to her that you wish you got to have a shower because it’s not too late! You 1000% deserve to have a baby shower whether your baby has already arrived or not! I’m so sorry you missed out on the last part of pregnancy but im glad it sounds like your little one is doing okay❤️I’m just saying if I were your best friend I’d still throw you a shower, every baby deserves to be celebrated❤️
