Child benefit

Hi all, I gave birth outside Ireland and brought my baby here when she was 4 months old. I am asked to prove baby residency to apply for child benefit. How to prove residency of a 4 month baby? Anyone faced this ?

Hey there, As residency of minors are typically depends on the child’s parent(s). You or your partner will need to satisfy the habitual residence condition for your LO to be eligible. See link below for more information. https://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/social-welfare/families-and-children/child-benefit/#:~:text=To%20get%20Child%20Benefit%2C%20you,be%20unable%20to%20support%20themselves.

Thank u Tammy. We are habitually resident. The document checklist asks for address proof of my baby. She is 4 months old. The only correspondence she has received is PPS number. I am just gonna send that as address proof and see how that goes.
