Hey girl! Try not to worry I know it’s easier said than done but i had a positive induction story i’ll repost below what i posted when I had my first child my LB one year ago. Forgot to mention i do also suffer with anxiety xx

Im the same, and pain triggers my anxiety I plan on letting them know during labor so they can give me meds to keep me calm. 😌

Went in on 11th for an induction at 3pm at 39 weeks due to having gestational diabetes (metformin controlled @ the highest dose for my fasting levels) I had 4 sweeps prior to induction which all said i was a good 2-3cm dilated but he still didnt want to come naturally😅 I had to wait intil 10pm for a bed to become available on labour ward. I was then took round &my waters were popped at 11:05pm midwife said i was a good 3-4 at that point. Left for an hour and a half to see if my contractions started naturally (which they did yay!) I was in active labour by 2:14am, pushed for 43 minutes and he was born at 5:13am weighing 6lb 12 ozs 🥺💙 Labour in total was 4hours 21 minutes all done with just gas &air. I am so proud of myself as i really didnt think i could do it and i got the vaginal birth i wanted and avoided having to go to theatre to have the placenta removed (took me 1 hr 24 minutes and a hell of a lot of pain but i finally managed to birth it with assistance from a dr) x

My induced labor was amazing. I had a bunch of interventions (miso, oxytocine, epidural) and my body apparently was fine and receptive. I wanted all these interventions and support. Trust the process and your body. I truly believe that things happen as they are meant to. Be open to going to a C Section if needed, if that’s what best for you and baby at the time. GOOD LUCK!

@Unruly ✨ see I don’t think there is anything they can give me to keep me calm as I’m already on medication for my anxiety, I’m hoping I can stay calm and don’t have a panic attack, I like to think I’m quite good with pain it’s just the worry of something going wrong out of my control

I’m a first time mum and was induced 4 weeks ago. I was really scared but it wasn’t too bad in the end. I had the pessary as the first attempt of induction. That was inserted at 23:30 on the Thursday, by 2am Friday my contractions had started and was getting more intense as time when on. By midday that Friday my waters had broke and my little girl arrived by 16:36. Everything happened rather quickly and I had gas and air throughout the labour. I probably would have asked for a epidural had I not been so spaced out on the gas and air. The pain was pretty intense but in the end it was all worth it. It is daunting and scary first time, but just remember you are in control and ask for everything and anything you want!

@Melissa I do plan on getting any pain relief they offer me, they are also going to try me with the pessary as I don’t like the sound of the balloon I’m hoping it all goes smoothly🤞🏼 and congratulations on your baby x

If they work u should be fine if you can take them while in labor.

You absolutely do not have to consent to induction if it’s not something you want xx

@Gemma I do want a induction I’ve had enough and in pain now🤣 just more or less I’m so anxious about the whole thing, this day was going to come but I didn’t think so soon lol xx

Hey, I had an induction too. Honestly was such a lovely birth. Stay calm and in control of your breathing. You've got this! Any advice, please message x

My induction was pretty smooth and under 12 hours

My induction was fine second better than my first second time round I had the dilapan-s (cervical ripening rods) these are none hormonal my body responded really good to them

you will find that the apprehension lessons as soon as you get into it, your body just does what it needs to even if it seems daunting or takes a while and you need pain relief, definitely keeping breathing under control got me through the early stages and pain, just keep asking questions if needs be and midwife will look after you, try and take things to distract as well, before you know it, it will all be done. Good luck
