Ghusl after sex

This might sound silly but I wanted to ask what is the correct way to take a ghusl after having sex? Does the water have to fall on every part of you like head to toe or can you just wash yourself from the waist down? Living with in laws, one does not want to be getting into the shower & making it obvious you just had sex whereas washing from the waist down is a quicker process & can do that discreetly. Thank you

I’m sure you defo have to wash your hair

Water must touch all surfaces of the body as well as inside mouth and nose. It’s definitely awkward, we lived with my parents for a while so I understand. Unfortunately nothing to do about it

As awkward as it feels its a part of married life and the more you shower the less awkward it will be hun. I think due to my age and having been married for over 6yrs now it wouldnt phase me. Agree with the above post, theres no way around it, must be a full wash inc mouth and nose

Oh also youd be shocked to hear this but some MILs are happy when you shower bec they think youre going to give them a grand baby soon LOL yes super awkward but ive overheard a few MILs in my time 😜

Thank you all for responding, I really appreciate this It’s not that big of a deal showering coz I live with in laws but it’s just awkward coz it’s a one floor flat so it’s like I’m in their faces when I do go to do ghusl & it’s obvious why 😂

Wash everywhere in the shower or through a dip in the pool

Ghusl after being intimate should start with the actions of wudhu including istinja. Then you begin your actual bath. Wet your whole body starting from your head to your toes. Then soap right side, then left and wash yourself in the same way. If you plan on going to sleep straight away, I would recommend you wash yourself. You don't have to perform your ghusl straight away, if you intend on praying fajr just make sure you've performed your full ghusl before fajr. prayer.
