Gestational Diabetes

Hi! I’m currently 35 + 3 weeks pregnant and baby has been measured at 6.6lbs, I have been told by my midwife that I’m going to be induced before I’m 40 weeks due to the gestational diabetes and how she’s growing on the bigger side? I was just wondering what other people’s experiences were with GD and if they were induced, natural labour or c sectioned? Thanks!

I had it with one of mine. I was induced early at i think 37ish weeks. She was 7lbs 15oz so not huge and shoulders were never an issue coming out. I was 31 weeks exactly with a growth scan and she was estimated 4lbs 15oz. Then another at 36 weeks and estimated 7lbs 13oz

I was induced a week early due to GD. But the process took a week and she came on my due date anyway 😂 ended up being a vaginal birth after hormone drip and epidural.

I had it and I was very diligent about my diet. I logged everything on MyFitnessPal, did light exercise after eating and had to check my blood sugar multiple times per day. Because of that it was well controlled so they let me go full term and I went into labor naturally and had him at 40 +3. In worried for my second pregnancy though because I don’t know if I’ll be able to to be as diligent this time around. It’s a lot of work/planning.
