Gestational and anxiety.

Moms with gestational diabetes, how do you manage?! I am prone to anxiety and this just seems to be worse. I go to maternal fetal med Wednesday to check his growth and they discussed that I will probably have to start insulin then. I feel so paranoid about everything Im eating and hate new medications. Half of my symptoms I don't know if it's from the diagnosis or just my normal pregnancy stuff. 😭 I feel like such a hot mess right now. Hubby has been helpful but he doesn't get this stress for me. I feel like I'm going to stress out so much I'll end up having him early. Braxton Hicks have been bad because of it the last 2 days 😞 I still have 7 weeks to go!

Breathe...... Having to use insulin is an added stress, especially when they're finding the proper dosage for your body. Have you determined when your sugar spikes? Have you spoken to the nutritionist? It's going to be ok. It's definitely no fun and annoying as heck but seven weeks will arrive soon enough.

Have you been having high numbers? Only time I would have high numbers was for my fasting, they said fasting is the hardest one to control, I ended up being on insulin because of it. With what you’re eating see what doesn’t make your number go high after a while you get the hang of it honestly and have snacks in between your meals. Don’t stress out about it calm down and breath, I know this all can be scary sometimes but just know everything will turn out fine

I was on insulin, and honestly, it relieved a lot of stress. I was able to eat more foods I enjoyed in small amounts because the insulin helped regulate my sugars. Before insulin I felt like I couldn’t eat anything.

It was just my fasting numbers but this week it has been after some meals as well. I feel like it's just been so hard to manage. Especially with still working and have 4 other kiddos.

I find drinking loads during the night( I take 2 bottles to bed with me) really helps my fasting numbers. Every time I wake you up for the loo I purposely chug a load down. Doesn’t help with needing a wee but deffo helps with the numbers. I also had a baby bell/or cheese string right before bed with a few nuts in my last pregnancy too.
