Balloon VS Pessary Induction

I’m at an appointment tomorrow to discuss and book my induction but I wasn’t aware until today that I could have my say in how I’m induced. What is your experiences with the ones in the title? I’ve been with my sister for the hormone drip so I’ve more knowledge of it

Pessary was popped in, I gave birth that day ! Can take a lot longer so I was pretty quick but I had a good experience with it ! Only needed one and it brought on labour nicely

Curious what is balloon?

I had the pessary and gave birth the same day only had to have one. Normally people have to have more than one pessary though. I just birth quickly. First baby I barely made it to the hospital second one they told me I would be in for days as like I said they don’t normally work first time, proved them wrong and birth’d on a ward in front of everyone with no midwife’s around because it was that quick and baby just fell onto the bed.

@Hannah ❤ from what I’ve read there’s a Cooks balloon and a Foleys balloon (not sure of the difference) it’s inserted to stretch the cervix and to try get your body to release prostaglandin in hopes of softening and shortening the cervix

Thank you for sharing! I just want to know personal experiences before going in tomorrow, I know the pessary can be a long form of induction!

They couldn’t get the balloon in me 😂 (weird angle apparently). Had a pessary but it fell out after 11 hours. After 6 days of nothing I finally got the drip. I wish either had worked for me!

I had a sweep which got me to 3cm so they popped my waters and I had a hormone drip x

I didn’t have either. Just had my waters broken then hormone drip
