Bedtime only? First bottle of the day? Both? Just formula when not with mum? I don’t want to express as struggle to get enough and find it time consuming but would like to introduce a bottle at least once a day as feel it will help our family routine more.

I’ve just started introducing formula. I’m only giving about 2oz at a time to get him used to it sometimes I’ll mix breast milk in as well. I tend to do 2-3 bottles throughout the day so he gets to used to the bottle. I’m aiming to only give a bottle at night time.
The first time I gave formula I did it first thing in the morning just incase he had a reaction to it so I had all day to monitor him x

Hiya, we did a feeding course and got these tips:
See if can buy a “let down” catcher and only feed from one boob at a time rather than switch halfway. Use excess milk for bottle feed. Freeze the rest.
Introduce bottle when baby is happy and relaxed
Dad to introduce bottle so can’t smell Mum’s breast milk (maybe start by offering at time of day Dad will always be around such as evening? Mum to use time to shower etc)
Try feed in a different position to how they are during a breast feed
Pace feed to mimic slowness of breast feeding
Try slow flow teets
Keep eye contact with baby
Skin to skin if you like
Chat softly to them
Introduce bottle 2-5 weeks once strong suck reflux is established
Bottle horizontal not vertical, vertical will speed up milk flow so lead to baby preferring bottle
If in doubt, seek support. Bottle introduction normally only interrupts breast feeding if there’s already an issue with BF

My baby started with a formula too uo when my milk was coming in. I still do that sometimes if he doesn’t seem satisfied. My husband occasionally also gives bottles if baby gets hungry and I’m asleep or in the shower.
