@Katherine I can see the irritation in her face when we put the tube, back in her nose and I hate when she gets sad about it. My hesitation is am I making the right decision, about switching to the G tube? There’s so many pros and cons to this and I want to be sure about my choice. I just want opinions from others is all
@Bethany totally understandable! It's a big decision its good to ask others! Have you searched for any online groups of parents with children with NG/Gtubes? I'm sure they would be a great place to get more information a d share your experiences
@Katherine no I haven’t seen any of those groups I’ll give that a try
@Bethany if there's none on peanut try fb
@Katherine ok I can also get opinions from here to but thanks for the help
No, g tubes are typically safer anyways. The surgery is also very small and heals very quickly. My daughter has a g tube. Also with button g tubes you won’t have a cord dangling from anywhere that can be pulled and you can close the hole from the stomach.
@Lexi you haven’t had any complications with the G tube?
I'm assuming if they're suggesting a g tube then she will need it for the foreseeable future. In that case I'd go with the g tube. I used to work with kids with feeding tubes, and the tube would irritate their faces they'd have to be so cautious during play so it wouldn't get dislodged...and the g tube was more freeing and comfortable for the parents and children! What is your hesitancy?
