Hi ladies. I’m 28 weeks and am down for a c-section in week 39 all being well (various high risk factors so they’ve advised me this is best). I’m still quite new to Essex - moved to Wickford 2.5 years ago. I have a 6 year old but had her in Whipps Cross as previously lived in east London. I opted for Broomfield at the outset after doing some research and after speaking with a few mum friends in the area who advised me against Basildon (which is technically closer). But today I’ve been told by consultant that CQC have visited Broomfield and told them they are “in crisis” due to numbers - they can’t cope - and they have to centralise. So all c-sections will be spread out. Won’t find out until week before where I’m going or what date and could be Basildon, Southend or Broomfield. I’m feeling super anxious about this now as this is exactly what I wanted to avoid. Has anyone received similar news?
Does anyone have experience of planned c-section in Basildon or Southend?
Thanks xx

Learn more about our guidelines.thank you Siobhan. Agree that now I’ve heard some great things about Basildon to be honest and it can be all about personal experiences on the day and which doctors/nurses you get etc. Best of luck for Friday!! So exciting. 😀Please do let me know how you got on. Xx
