I’m at a loss and I don’t know what to do anymore. It feels like every 2-3 weeks my baby goes through a phase where she isn’t eating properly, refusing to eat from both sides during a feeding like usual, and throwing an absolute fit during feeding times. It seems to happen right around the time I am supposed to start my period and will last about a week or more. I’m at my wits end with this tho, I cannot do it anymore and it makes me so angry and I keep losing my cool. I want to continue to BF but not if this is going to happen every month. It’s messing up my mental health, my milk supply, and I’m constantly engorged on the dominant side. I have no idea how to help or fix this, has anyone gone through this and figured it out??

Is it possible they are going through a leap? I find my little one gets really fussy for feedings around a new leap. I use the wonder weeks app and it lets you know signs to look out for and when the next leap is.
Could be something entirely different but could be a possibility! X

How is she with a bottle? Could you start pumping and switch to bottle feeding? Or at least during that week?

Might have to save your mental health and start pumping and giving expressed breastmilk. The bond will still be there. And she can still latch from time to time. Because your milk supply will stay!

I started supplementing in formula because my mental health couldn’t handle pumping while working anymore. Best decision I made for myself! I hated it at first and had many tears but we as moms need to stay healthy to keep our babies healthy!

I read somewhere that your period could make your breast milk taste saltier? Perhaps that has something to do with it

I’ve been ebf for 8 months now and noticed every time I was due to start my period (up to a week before) my milk supply would drop slightly x
