Yesterday I started crying when I realized I have not been sleeping for over 4 years.
I usually laugh it off when people ask me how tired I am. And I say something like, “Oh I’ve been running on no good sleep for 4 years, I’m fine!”
After talking with my doctor and discussing if she thought I might have ADHD because I feel like I’m so forgetful and loosing my train of thought. But with further discussion, she then asked me when the last time I had a good nights sleep. I can confidently say sometime in the first week of January as that’s the last time my baby slept through the night. And before then ? Must of been in 2019 before I was pregnant !!
Thankfully she explained I am most likely absolutely exhausted and deep in mom brain fog.
This motherhood journey is no joke.
Some days are very hard.
Mamas, the ones holding it together by a thread, sleep deprived and all, I see you. And you’re doing amazing. Give yourself some grace and maybe you too think back to the last time you had a good nights sleep, and maybe prioritize your sleep today instead of doing the laundry.
What are you struggling with ?

thank you for your message.
It’s definitely more than exhaustion. Some past concussions are for sure playing a role in all of this. I didn’t feel dismissed because of the questioning that went further than just saying it’s mom brain. I appreciate you sharing your experience.
It’s definitely something I will keep checking in with myself.
My son wasn’t consecutively sleeping through his nights up until recently, he’s 4. He has a lot of energy that needs to be fully burned out before bedtime for deep sleep to happen. And well my baby is 8 months and breastfeeding through the night still.
