Tommee tippee teats

So I have used tommee tippee bottles since little one was using bottles, and he has always had troubles with feeding (he has a slight lip tie and also had colic and has reflux controlled with omeprazole).
I have tried other bottles, such as MAM but I would rather stay on tommee tippee as this is all the bottles we have and I can't afford to keep getting more bottles as they ain't cheap!!!

So anyway, he was on size 1 teats up until about 1 week ago and I noticed he was taking forever to drink a bottle, sometimes over half an hour, and would either fall asleep or become restless and frustrated when feeding so I have changed to size 2, now he seems to be spilling out more milk then he was, takes in more air, and is drinking and swallowing really loudly.
I don't know whether to change back to size 1 or keep at size 2 and hope he gets used to it... I feel he needs one inbetween them both.

He was so used to drinking thick milk at the beginning it took him a while to take to drinking normal milk from size 1 teats but he got there in the end!
I just don't know what to do!

Have you tried vari flow teats? Apparently they help baby choose the flow? I haven’t tried them with my LB personally and he didn’t get on well with tommee tippee bottles but the teats are on offer in boots at the moment could be worth trying or persevering with the size 2 if you feel he’s had enough of size 1

When did you change? It took my baby a good 2-3 days to fully adapt! I was doing two bibs and making bottles bigger to account for spillage and doing more upright/paced feeding then she adjusted x

Have you tried the vari flow teets?

They only let out as much milk as your baby sucks. We went on them straight from birth

Agree with giving baby a few days to adjust to the new teat flow before making any changes, could be worth looking at the anti-colic size 2

We found it pretty much acted as a middle ground between 1 and 2

Could try variflow but they don't work for everyone , my little one has ridiculously strong suction and no control over it so she just drowns herself with vari 😅

I changed around a week ago
He's got better on some feeds but not on others which is really frustrating! I'm just hoping he will adjust eventually.
I haven't tried the vari flow teats but he sucks so hard and due to lip tie doesn't latch very well so I'm not sure he will do well with those although I might give them a try! X

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!
