Sasha no idea . Irregular periods , my age , perimenopause can cause false positives I'm told

Yes, you carry HCG when approaching menopause. What did the doctor say?

@Yog havnt got appointment yet . Can't make 1 till I'm off work , took holidays at beginning of June

if it’s stressing you, you can make a triage request and ask for a menopause test, pick up blood forms and do a walk-in blood test and then you have results to discuss at an appointment. There’s a reason why you are taking so many tests so it must be on your mind. Xx

No it's not stressing me at all , fascinated and curious with the tests yes x

Have you done a menopause test? If that’s positive and you have lots of faint pos hcg it’s likely that the irregular periods and those tests would suggest early stages of menopause instead of pregnancy x

yes she got a really strong postive for menopause test ,and has had faint lines on pregnancy tests for weeks now ,I'm pretty sure when you on set for menopause you can have false positive pregnancy tests as the hormone responsible is a similar hormone to what chemicals in pregnancy such as FSH can become high which can cause false positives,when usually this process takes two years and she hasnt had a period for about 3 months so i feel like the chance's are low but definitely not non existent ♥️it's about 5%

positive on a digital too , definitely get blood tested for HCG at this point ,you want to make sure your actually pregnant and not just have elevated levels of HCG ,my mum is premenopausal she took a menopause test and it was very postive ,she also took a pregnancy test and it was positive but shes not pregnant she had everything removed over 13 years ago shes 47 x

and to be fair a positive on a digital,there require a certain amount of HCG so because that's positive you could actually be pregnant ♥️ but always be 100%sure

what did your doctor say? With a pregnancy you’d have much higher HCG by now.

Yog . Got docs on Friday. I'm not letting any negative thoughts in my head till I've been as will just stress myself more .

I don’t think you need to have any negative association, it will just help with clarity for you so you more where you are 😊 Let us know how it goes lovely xx

the unknown always puts us in the back foot but there are plausible reasons that aren’t anything to worry about 😊

Update . Phoned my GP they said its now phone ure local hospital maternity services .so did that . Women booked me in for appointments .1st appointment is in October. She's booked my scan for 23rd October. Asked me loads of questions and gave me numbers for early pregnancy support for any concerns or bleeding ect . So 14th October is my first gp appointment as they think I'm only 4 weeks just now .

Holly no they didn't. Got appointment next Monday for bloods ect

Yog . Ok saw midwife she asked loads of questions took my hight ect . Bloods and urine sample . Said a bit of blood in my sample . Gave me my folder and form for free dental treatment. That was it .got a scan next Wednesday morning at 12 weeks (if I am ) so don't really know anything for certain yet till my scan or bloods come back x

Well they just phoned , my hcg levels is 5 so not pregnant she said . Also said she doesn't know why I got a positive digital weeks test or faint lines .

Well that's strange , hopefully they look into that abit more as that's definitely not normal yano ,sorry if you didn't get the answers you needed xx

sorry you don’t have clarity, did they scan you to check for cysts and other causes? There are multiple reasons as to why so I hope they can investigate further for you if that’s what you’d like. X

Nope . Had my booking in on Monday were midwife took my blood hight ect . Then hospital today for more blood to check my hcg levels that was it

that's super strange to me ,I agree with yog there are many reasons for higher than normal HCG ,and for it being 5 that's actually slightly elevated,mines 0.5 and always been less than 1 ,but I definitely think they should be looking into it more than bloods as that doesn't really tell you much x

Yeah I'm just putting it down to perimenopause

my first thoughts were perimenopause but I still think you need an actual doctor to discuss it with.

Was a waste of time so sticking to perimenopause

if that gives you closure I’m passed you got some closure and can move on 😊
