Yeast infection rash in diaper area remedies?

Please share what you do for yeast diaper rash. I need to know what you use exactly (links) and how you apply it and what diaper cream you use over the yeast medicine. We were using Nystatin prescribed by the doctor and it went away for the most part then we ran out of Nystatin and started using Lotrimin with mixed A&D and butt paste which didn’t seem to be doing anything. So I bought over the counter Clotrimazole and used DESITIN over that. The rash is looking a Little better compared to before. But the daycare teacher said don’t use desitin it doesn’t do anything and I tried explaining that it seems to be working better than mixing A&D and butt paste…

Anyways I’m curious what remedies worked for you, with specifics

When we notice yeast, we use a dab of nystatin mixed with a dab of hydrocortisone cream based on our pediatrician’s recommendations. I rub that in and then coat with Desitin to keep everything in place. We do this for his morning and night diapers, then just Desitin for the diapers in between.

We’ve dealt with some very severe diaper rash in the past, so if we start seeing some bad flare ups we do a routine that we learned in the NICU called crusting. We only do this before bed, and only if the rash warrants it. Essentially, we do the nystatin/hydrocortisone base coat, then alternating layers of stoma powder and skin repair spray (they make one for babies)- 3 or 4 layers of each, then let dry for a few seconds, then coat with Desitin. This usually knocks the problem out pretty quickly.

Yeah we just got over this as well (similar situation of being prescribed Nystatin which ran out before it fully cleared up) then I bought 2% Clotrimazole over the counter and using the maximum strength desitin over it and after 3-4 days, it’s totally gone.

I’m still going to finish my last tube for another couple days just to make sure it’s gone for good. Desitin max strength is the only cream that my daughter doesn’t get rashes with. I noticed it’s better when I apply it thinly rather than slathering it on thickly. I’ve tried the butt paste after her ped recommended it but I swear it makes her rashes worse every time so I stopped.

I also wash her in the sink and only use dampened wet wipes to clean the poop off gently and then wash with baby soap and water. For just pee, I don’t use the wipes at all. It clears her rashes up much faster than just using wipes I feel like.

Also letting them air dry a bit before putting on the creams and diaper if you can for 20-30 min helps
