Big knickers, stool softener (the drugs are amazing but they cause constipation which is just an unnecessary discomfort that’s easy to avoid) and being as mobile as possible. The more you move, the easier your recovery.
I had one for my first baby and I’ll be having one for baby 2 too. I found it very calm and happy, I had the camera rolling and radio on. Happy to answer any questions x

Don’t be worried I had to go down for an emergency one during labour. I would definitely get one again x

I had a c section with my first babe because she was breech. For me it took all my birth plan away as I wanted to give birth in a pool with little pain relief, so for me it was the complete opposite of that and I didn’t prepare or expect the feeling afterwards that I felt my body had let me down. Which of course, is ridiculous! I’ve had a c section with my second babe almost 11 weeks ago now and the best bit of advice I can give to you is to just let go, let the team do their work. A birth is a birth and c section is no easy way out, afterwards I had people saying oh I’d love a c section etc I’d choose it over vaginal delivery any day, which infuriated me and to some degree still does!
Take all the help you can get afterwards and don’t over do it, get lots of fresh air and big knickers! Don’t worry about anything, just breathe. You’ve got this mumma we’re made of tough stuff x

I’m sorry to be a party pooper. I had a bad experience.
I know a few people who would pick a C-section over a vaginal birth but I had 5 children naturally and then my last was an emergency C-section. Nothing prepares you in my experience. The recovery physically and mentally was so hard compared to my other births. Be prepared to not be able to do anything after. Even lifting baby! I struggled so much.
With the right support you’ll be okay just keep on top of pain meds!
Everyone is different!
My sister said she would choose C-section 10 times over. I just found with vaginal birth 2/3 days later was if nothing happened!
Wishing you all the best though!!! Xx
