Late progynova dose at 4w5d (FET) - looking for reassurance
hi. I’m 5w pregnant today, following FET. I’m on quite a lot of medication due to having trouble getting my lining to thicken - 2x Cyclogest pessaries (taken rectally for the last 3 weeks because of irritation), 1x lubion injection, 6x2mg progynova tablets, and also estradiol patches 2x per week.
On Tuesday (at 4w5d) I took all medication as normal at 7am, except I completely forgot to take my progynova (estrogen) tablets. I called the clinic in the evening to ask what to do and they advised me to take the missed dose right away (that was 7pm Tuesday at that point) and continue taking my daily dose as normal from 7am the next day. So Tuesdays dose ended up being 12 hours late, then continuing as normal from Wednesday morning.
Since Tuesday I’ve had extremely light brown spotting when I go to the toilet. I’m so worried that I’ve completely messed things up and caused a potential MC.
My clinic took hcg levels yesterday - they said these were normal but I obviously won't know for sure until they do the repeat blood test tomorrow.
Does anyone have any reassurance? Have you taken a pre or missed progynova dose? Did it cause spotting? And did everything still worked out?! I’m so so anxious, I can’t focus on anything but this.

Hey, I have been on a lot of drugs since the fet too, utrogestan (200g progesterone pessaries) 3 times a day and lubion once a day and another brand oestrogen tables twice a day, I forgot to take my oestrogen tablets one morning when I was 8 weeks, took it that evening so about 12h late too, had a bit of bleeding and because I have had a previos miscarriage I had a scan with the EPU but it was all well, currently 11w 5d and waiting for my 12 weeks scan next week. I know it’s impossible not to worry but chances are you are just spotting cos it is very common in early pregnancy :) best of luck x
Brown spotting will be old blood so I highly doubt one missed tablet on Tuesday would cause bleeding from that day. It could be old blood from the transfer that’s now clearing.

thank you for your response ❤️❤️ Unfortunately as my daily dose is 12mg it’s actually 6 missed tablets! (6x2mg daily each morning). I’m hoping that since I’ve been on the progynova for so long during the FET cycle my estrogen levels are high enough that they wouldnt have dipped too much with the late dose 🤷🏻♀️ Thank you for your response ❤️❤️
I mean one dose, not necessarily one tablet.
It’s impossible not to worry at every single thing, believe me I get it.
But as you’ve said, you’ve been taking is so long that it’ll have built up in your system by now.
It’s uncommon for people to have a withdrawal bleed the second they stop taking them so I’d try not to worry too much about it.
Any sign of blood is scary but it can be completely normal.

Adding an update for anyone who has similar scare and searches for this kind of thing in future.
My HGG has come back at over double what it was on Wednesday so clinic are happy that it’s a continuing pregnancy (327 on Weds to over 800 today). I have had a show of slightly more red blood this morning but still light. Have been booked in for a v early scan on Monday (which will be 5w4d) but overall my clinic are happy for the moment that my pregnancy is progressing.
