Hey mamas, is it normal not to have another scan after the 20 weeks scan, currently 32 weeks and midwife keeps saying she has no concerns so I don’t need any scan. I just want to know if this is normal or if anyone has experienced this?

Yes, you only get a 12 week and a 20 week scan free with the NHS unless they have concerns🫶

Yes its normal .

Totally normal they only offer more scans if you are high risk or have any issues!

Yes seems normal but agreed it's aaaages. I had the 20wk scan in March. My next one isn't until 13th June. So 34 weeks. But I think that's because I'm under a consultant.
You do get midwife checks though and you can always get a private scan in the middle (I did)

seems to be standard practice world wide to only have 2 scans included, those being the dating scan and anatomy scan. some clinics in the US do on site scans as well, but here in canada unless you are high risk (like me) you only get 2 scans.

I think it depends on your trust.. I'm booked in for a scan at 36 scan as my trust offers this x

Yes it’s normal you get a 12 week one and 20 week one which I think is crazy I think everyone should get another one in there 30 weeks I could not cope with just to , you can book private ones if your are wanting extra ones x

Normal, although depending where you are some hospitals do a scan at 36 weeks. Mine doesn’t, but my SIL at a different hospital did. X

I don't know about Canada and US but in Europe (definitely know about Greece, Germany, Hungary and Romania), you get way more. Greece and Germany you can ask for a scan at every appointment (so about once a month). Might have to pay extra for it (like €30-40) but they will do it.

Totally normal you only have 2 scan throughout unless they have any concerns, I.e they may send you for a growth scan. X

You'll probably have a 36e scan but normal unless concerned. I was high BMI so I had regular growth scans between 20 and 38 weeks on NHS but that's cos they couldn't rely on midwife measuring etc

It’s is, I don’t think it should be tho. Like I’m not high risk, but I still would like reassurance without having to pay for a scan…I feel like it should be 12 weeks, 20 weeks and 30 or something
