Update- in the hospital

Went to my scheduled midwife appointment today and got sent to the hospital for preeclampsia concerns with my blood pressure hitting 159/90+ while I was there. Here in the hospital now and it was at 166/99 but it has been fluctuating since. Blood work hasn’t gotten back yet 😬😬 I had no plans on having this baby in a hospital but they are starting the process of admitting me because of my blood pressure, pitting edema, etc. I don’t know how to react 😣 I’m 40 minutes away from my house and dogs and an hour from my partners job. 37w +6 days

Aw I’m sorry but I’m glad you were admitted and being observed! I know this wasn’t your plan as you said, but a friend of mine nearly lost her and her baby due to high blood pressure!! Hopefully all goes well ❤️

@Dayna yeah I’m glad they sent me because it’s at 171/102 now and they just had to give me meds

@J’akeecia praying for you and baby 🙏🏻

A few weeks ago I had to stay in the hospital overnight for observation as my blood pressure was about that high at my regular appointment as well (that’s after already taking meds for high blood pressure). After administering IV meds to bring it down, labs came back good, and checking on baby (she was doing great), I was able to go home the next morning on some new blood pressure medication.

@Alexandria they haven’t verbally confirmed if I have preeclampsia or anything, but they are inducing me tonight unfortunately because it keeps going back up even after medication

I’m glad you’re there…I’m a RN and as low intervention as they come, but your symptoms absolutely need addressed in a hospital setting. I’m sorry it’s so much different than you planned! Remember the biggest goal is healthy Mama and baby. Prayers

@Sarah it’s very slow going they started the induction methods yesterday at 7pm and I’m still at one centimeter 😭 and they won’t let me eat because I’m not allowed to walk around due to the magnesium and my blood pressure being heavily monitored
