My LO is 9 weeks and formula fed, sometimes after she finishes her bottle she will cry and fuss and make feeding cues like she is still hungry (kind of suckling the air) after a burp she settles.
I’ve reached out a few times to healcare professionals for advice and they’ve said she is having the appropriate amount for a baby of her age/weight. They advised it’s okay to offer an extra 0.5-1 oz as long as I paced feed and look for signs she is full.
She always seems to want the extra and since I last reached out I’ve even upped what we offer her each time by an extra 1.5oz.
She is doing well weight wise and even has gone up a centile when weighed yesterday.
Now I feel like I’m over feeding her, even though she makes these cues…
Is it possible to just have a ‘greedy’ baby?
I’m just really doubting myself and want to do right by my baby 🩷

Hey,
I've found my baby does this when she's got a bit of wind stuck, I spoke to HV and they said because they're tummy is feeling funny they sometimes try drinking the uncomfortableness away so might just be worth doing an extra burp and seeing if it helps settle her. Having said that she might just be growing lovely and is a hungry girl😍 I'd also say if she's not sicking up after having more chances are you're not over feeding her because if she was getting excess she'd sick it up ☺️ Sounds like you're doing a wonderful job, your instinct knows your baby best, don't fret 🩷

My baby is 8 weeks and also does this. He's already having more than the packaging recommends so in an effort to avoid over feeding him we've started to give him a dummy for a little while at the end of those feeds. It relaxes him and usually stops him wanting more. I wonder if it's like adults - it takes them a while to register they are full and the dummy just settles them during that time.

Mine does the same when he has wind to bring up - he’s breast fed, so he’ll just bob around on my boob and whinge. Once he’s been burped all the cues go and he’s happy again.
I’d try burping first and wait a couple of minutes and if she’s still giving hunger cues try her with a bit more milk
