Advice please

My dad has always been very controlling and blunt and rude with his language
Never really respected my mum. My sibling went off the rails a lot of it had to do with how my dad was with them. I finally got the courage to send him a message addressing major points that were affecting me and the family as he had had an outburst with my sibling and he has just disregarded everything I said and said I never asked him for his side of things. But this is not the case
This man has an anger problem and has deflected all the hurtful things he has done . Now he says that we should just stay out Of each others lives. And he sent a voice note being all polite trying to really make himself seem like he has done nothing wrong ! What do I say? What do I do? He’s a bully and I sent the message in hope that he could potentially acknowledge his wrongs and that we could help him work on his temper and his foul language and behaviour. Can anyone give me some advice on how to handle this 😌

Cut ties! Youre better off! My dad is the same way and that’s what I did.

This is what my dad did, he left me at 21 because of a whole thing and everyone on his side says he never did anything, because he’s got them all brainwashed. And I’m the bad guy for being brave enough to not let him hurt me anymore

Sounds like he’s in denial of doing anything wrong just by his polite attempt to charm you. Kinda narcissistic and a bit of a gaslighter imo so it’s hard to connect there. But what is it that you want out of him? Do you want him to change or do you want to forgive and move on? You can also recognize that when he acts up you have every right to straight up put up and boundary and be like whoa your reaction is completely inappropriate and damaging and I’m not going to let you talk to me, mom sibling like that again! Like put your foot down like if you can’t work things out calmly then you can take your rage and walk out the front door.. saying all of this calm but firm in the moment enough times should start to wake him up. Don’t give into gaslighting and just. Hold the boundary of no you cannot talk to us like that, leave and come back when your calm
