Can you pay and book private rooms at QA? When I had my son, I really hated being on the labour ward. I want to give birth at QA because I had to have a Dr in with my son so I don't want to have a home birth or anything
I know I sound like a really shi**y person but I don't want to share a room/ward after giving birth

No they don't have that option unfortunately. The side rooms on the ward are only for people with a specific need like a mental health plan or something potentially infectious, but you can always ask!

I believe they don't have that option at QA, so I opted to go to St richards, that had that option. However due to my needs, they allowed a private room at no cost. :)

@BikerGirlR6 I was just wondering if you found out the prices of having a private room at St Richards?
I'm due in the next few weeks, and I'm under that hospital, but I didn't know St Richards had this option.
My midwife is currently on holiday, but I'll look at asking her more about it once she's back x

@Charlie yeah so they was going to charge me £140 for the night. I gave birth with my first in 2021 at QA and actually had a horrific experience! Especially with after care. I opted St richards on my second and it was the best! Because it's not so manic- your not treated as a number. They charge the rooms at that rate and you get your own bathroom too :) luckily due to my own disabilities and requirements I didn't have to pay (I had to provide evidence of a carer being needed). Hope this helps
