Nail polish/gel and labor

I am nearly 39 weeks and baby can come at any time now, I wanted to get my nails done beforehand while I still have time. However I have heard that it is advised against as doctors can tell your oxygen levels by the colour of our nails. Is this an actual issue and should I wait to get my nails done or is it okay?

I had acrylic nails all through my pregnancy and labour .. they can always clip the oxygen clip to your toe 😂 (in all seriousness) wasn’t an issue both times x

I was booked for a section and thus was not allowed to wear any.
I guess if you had to go in for an emergency section, it'll probably be easier for them if you didn't had any on.

I was just told to make sure you didn’t have both nails and toes done at the same time. If you want your nails doing just make sure your toes are left clear and they can use them instead.
