Thoughts on buying a used owlet sock

No! Search/Google owlet smart sock causes burns

Can't speak for others but we like it a lot.

We got the owlet camera/sock set as a gift and have been using it the last 2 weeks since baby was born and I've had no problems. I know the notification can be annoying cause sometimes the sock slides around since it's a little big for his foot. But for me personally it gives me ease of mind being able to track/monitor everything with my baby.

We were given a used one from my cousin and we really like it to help bring some peace of mind at night. Like said, the notification can be annoying when the placement of the sock moves, but otherwise we don't get false alarms and it works great. We just use the sock so far, but I don't think you need to worry about the camera either. I looked up what said about burns and didn't find anything online to indicate an issue.

Don’t worry that wasn’t accurate! Some babies skin was more sensitive and the parents had the socks on the wrong size and if too tight like anything else wearing and rubbing tight it can cause a blister or red spot! We love outs! Three babies in and I’ve never had any issues, and that goes for everyone I know who has one!

@tiff Actually I’m a consumer attorney and have seen the burns on babies. A more thorough search and you can find the reports of confirmed burns. But to each his own, everyone has to decide what is right for them and works best for their baby. Just wanted to alert everyone that there is this risk

Yeah I saw some of the claims with their old sock 3 but it appears they justified thermal burns weren’t the cause and that was verified with Drs this year so I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♀️ but if you saw confirmation previously I agree there are always weird things that can happen with any form of technology or even toys. The new owlet though is called the Dream Sock, it’s the best 🤩 - I don’t think I could sleep without it lol.
