Mam bottles melting in the microwave 🍼

Has anyone else had MAM bottles that have melted in the microwave during the self sterilising process? We have followed all of the instructions on timings, amount of water etc. We have tried 2 different microwaves and it’s happened twice now.

Do you know if you got the bottles out of the same pack, maybe it’s a batch issue

Avatar

No it’s happened to ones from different packs 😞

we have been using them for 2 months with no issues and now all of a sudden they have started melting 🫠

hmm strange then maybe contact maam, sorry I can’t be of more help we use Tommee tippee atm

I might buy a steriliser instead, I’ve just been reading about how this has happened to so many other people! Id rather buy a steriliser now than fork out for new bottles and a new microwave 😅

This has happened to me with Tommee tippee self sterilising bottles. Like the bottom popped. I don't like it! I've just bought glass bottles instead.

And this is why I'm using cold water sterilising now. Melting bottles sounds way too scary.

hi, what do you use for this??

Milton sterilising tablets and a 6ltr tupperware box with a lid.

All you do is fill the tupperware with cold water, add the tablet (or fluid as directed) wait 15 minutes and you're good to add the bottles.

You don't even need to replace the water each time, you only replace the water once a day, so I replace the water each morning. You also leave everything IN the steriliser, so you just pull out a bottle per feed and the rest can stay in the water all sterilised. (Just keep the lid on)

We were sceptical at first, but it's so much nicer to use this method rather than steam/microwave sterilisers. (And it's cheap too)

I've recently returned my bottles for leakage, I wasn't impressed. My LB can't manage tommee tippee, so still trying to find an alternative.

Mine didn’t quite melt, but they made the microwave spark and cut out 👀 probably our old microwave but I bought a steam steriliser and definitely find the process quite simple!

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
