Hi ladies has anyone gotten pregnant on the copper coil?

Unfortunately no contraception is 100% effective, if you are pregnant, drs will be worried it's an ectopic pregnancy. It also depends on a few factors like how long you have had the coil, if it was a 5 or 10 year one (some ppl have been fitted with 5 year ones & thought they were 10 year ones as they were not given the right information 🥲) before I went on mat leave I did the coil clinics at my work.
Maybe, for peace of mind, try to feel your threads as well? Make sure it's still in.

thank you the info I can feel my threads now at first I couldn’t I saw the Tiniest smudge of brown when wiping but haven’t had anything after that. Could this be pregnancy spotting? How can I be sure I have the 10 year coil fitted in

So when you had the coil fitted, they SHOULD have given you a card with info about the coil & the date for your next one to be fitted. It should say on it there, the name of the coil etc.
In regards to the smudge, it could be implantation bleeding, it could also be a whole host of other things. I didn't get any bleeding with the beginning of my pregnancy so everyone & every pregnancy is different. Have you booked your blood test? Honestly it's so tricky, in August I was 10 days late & sure I was pregnant but wasn't. September was a normal period (although a tad light I think) then I was 2 days late in October & that's when I found out I was pregnant.

woaw these periods can really be so tricky and misleading , my bloods are on 21st June but I will do another pregnancy test Friday to see. They’re also going to test my thyroid and sugar levels too

Yeah I have the card somewhere it literally got fitted in a year ago and it’s the 10 year as I have 3 kids already and I’m 30 plus

Did they do a scan after you had it fitted to ensure it was in the right place? It's advised as the copper coil insertion is different to the other coils.

If no scan was done, I would ask for one to ensure it's all okay, and yea defo do a test next week & then the bloods
