Glasgow Airport - Nuby Rapid Cool in hand luggage

So we travelled from Glasgow Airport today (6th June) and our hand luggage got pulled at security. It was because of our Nuby flasks. We each had one in our bags. When the first one got pulled and he explained why, I asked to speak to a manager as someone in the security line across from us got through with theirs. When he was away the next flask was taken by a woman and she went to “empty it out” and tried to give us it back. Sadly the man came back and said oh no they can’t have that 😂😂 Has anyone else had this recently? Apparently they changed the rules this week. My husband had to go back down to check in with one of our hand luggage bags and paid to check that in. A manager came over with an A4 printed sheet of paper, I told her about the other guy and she just said oh well he shouldn’t have it. Either they will all get to know or it’s just your luck!!

Following as travelling soon and would like to know too! X

Apparently this is new, we flew out on 7th May and I got clarification from Glasgow airport beforehand that we could take it in hand luggage. At security they didn’t even batter an eyelid at it but my kindle got scanned and swabbed 3x 🤷🏼‍♀️x

@Emma typical lol! Yeah he said it had been introduced last week. When I challenged why the people in the other queue got theirs he just said well they shouldn’t have. We just had the hassle of going back down and checking in one of our hand luggage items with them in, but I would totally believe that this wouldn’t be an option for everyone. Not everyone wants to give airlines another £40 for a bag 😅 xx

Did they say why at all? Because the only thing it has on it is a thermometer… what could I possibly do with it apart from feed my baby?! 😂😂

This happened to me today flew from Glasgow to Luton, and they took it off me

I flew from Edinburgh 27th April this year & was fine… I flew from Glasgow 30th May this year and was fine with it, never got flagged

I flew from Edinburgh last Monday and returned yesterday both times with my rapid cool and had no issues whatsoever x

I flew from Glasgow to Luton on 20th May and they took off me. We couldn’t put it in the checked in luggage cos it was so busy! They said because there’s liquid in the rapidcool and can’t test it!

@Krupha there’s a liquid inside that they cannot test x

@Selina did you get it back at all? They said the rules had just recently changed but if they took it then that isn’t the case. Honestly it just makes me so angry that it isn’t advertised anywhere on their website. Also the fact that someone in the normal security queue got theirs through x

@Chelsea he said the rules had just recently changed at the beginning of June. My argument was that clearly not everyone knows these new “rules” as a family in another queue got theirs. And his colleague was going to give us our second one until he came back and seen her!! Seems to just be your luck who you get xx

@Megan I suppose, I’ve been over 30 flights either my 2 year old, from when he was 15 days old thankfully I’ve never had the problem.
