Boat trip whilst pregnant

So I am away on holiday, 19 weeks pregnant, and we went on a boat trip which was safe and smooth on the way there however on the way back it was extremely bad. The waves were really awful and the boat had some very harsh bounces from the water and we all felt so unsafe and worried. I feel so guilty now and didn’t think about it before we booked it not realising that this could be a possibility. I feel a slight bit of pain/poking in my lower stomach now (2 hours after) but unsure if that is baby moving or if I should be concerned about it. Has anyone experienced anything similar and been okay?

Hiya if you’re worried always best to speak with the doctors/midwife to be safe. I had similar mum-guilt when i went to Spain at 13 weeks pregnant and got food poisoning. Felt I could have prevented it by just staying at home and being more safe, and felt I had put my baby at risk. Everything was fine and I’m now 17+5 and feels like a thing of the past. Hope you manage to get some reassurance and that everything is all ok.

@Rachael ahh I’m glad everything is okay, I’ll maybe speak to someone for some reassurance. I do have my 20 week scan on the 24th too thankfully, I think we just worry about anything really it’s awful

Baby is well cushioned and safe in your belly. Try not to worry

Try not to worry too much, they are very well protected in there. I went flying face first last week at 19+3 and panicked. I messed my knee up, my hands, my elbow. Completely and utterly panicked. I said to my partner afterwards, "I've killed our baby" . I just cried for hours. Called and got given a reassurance scan. Everything was absolutely fine. Then my 20 week scan she was in there tumbling and kicking away not a care in the world. Meanwhile I'm still limping! I get pelvic pain after a particularly bumpy car ride too btw!

Aww thank you so much everyone, makes me feel so at ease! My 20 week scan can’t come quick enough 😩
