Pregnancy and meds withdrawal

I’ve just found out I’m pregnant just over a week ago so had to stop my meds immediately. Anyone got some good advice or words of encouragement for dealing with withdrawal on top of the other early pregnancy symptoms? I’m struggling 😅

It’s honestly a difficult time because the withdrawal hits super hard but you get used to it and it gets better. My psychiatrist suggested keeping a routine as much as possible - there’s an app called Timo which is really good and sends you reminders but I prefer making a daily checklist in my journal. I also started making more notes than usual because the brain fog gets real, especially as the pregnancy progresses. Folic acid is also super important, I had no idea but aside from being beneficial for baby it helps with neurotransmitters and therefore boosts your overall mood. Exercise too if you’re well enough for it 😅 I just keep reminding myself it’s all temporary and the balance will eventually be restored.

I also stayed on my meds. Idk what your situation is, but it is more and more common these days for mamas to stay on their meds. I know for me, my anxiety spikes really bad without my meds, so going off was really not an option.

I did and for me it felt right to prioritise the baby over my needs and the doctor agreed that it was the best option and also concluded that it would be safe. Was rough for a few weeks but it’s been six weeks off now and I feel absolutely fine. Do what’s right for you as long as a doctor agrees that it’s safe. It’s generally best to not be on amphetamines when you’re pregnant so most doctors will advice you to either wean off before trying or come off them cold turkey if you’re able to if you find yourself with a surprise pregnancy like I did 😊

yes mine was a suprise pregnancy too and only found out much later as was on the pill still! Only when I came off the pill as thought it was making me ill (as it was a new one I was taking last year you take back to back with no breaks) that my period never came and found out 😳
Was on my low dose elvanse all throughout and baby had no issues and one the calmest most easiest babies. Not all doctors recommend to come off them.
Good luck with your pregnancy x

TMI: No judgement please but do you think I should go to a hospital tonight or I’ll be fine til my appointment next week?

A gush of brownish red blood came out, like it squirted out while I was standing. I’ve been cramping the past few days, I’m supposed to be around 7 weeks pregnant but at the last appointment doctor couldn’t really tell even with the vaginal ultrasound..there was a faint heart beat but I’m kinda worried I’m miscarrying

Midwife visits

how many PP midwife visits have you had and at what point??
I’m 3 weeks PP tomorrow, had a midwife come out on day 1 and then day 5 and got told at the day 5 visit that a midwife would come out again once baby has reached birth weight so that we could be discharged, yet she’s been back to birth weight for a week and we’ve heard nothing from midwife’s. all contact now seems to be only from a health visitor but she’s not coming back until another 3 weeks.
Should we have had another midwife visit post day 5, or have atleast heard from them during this time…? 15 days no contact at all makes me assume i won’t?

Labor question

I’ve always had pretty bad periods in regards to pain. I hear that contractions feel like really bad period cramps. If you’ve had bad cramps did your contractions feel way worse or was it a bit better since you had already experienced bad cramps?
