Sleeping too long overnight

Can babies sleep for too long overnight?

My baby is 11 weeks old and she’s been an amazing sleeper from about 9 weeks old. She goes to bed at 9:30 and wakes anywhere between 5:30-7:30. Sometimes she will have a bottle and go back to sleep until around 9.
Last night we were travelling back, what was supposed to be a 2hr 50min drive took us just over 4 hours with a 30 minute stop and also motorway closures etc. we stopped an hour and a half in and fed the baby, she slept from us setting off until then. After she had her feed and had a good stretch we set off again, she slept the whole way home again aswell, we were close to having to stop again with her being in the car for just over 2 hours this time but we were so close to home that we just got ourselves back. We arrived back at about 23:30 and I took baby straight up to bed and she went back to sleep no problem after a nappy change. She then didn’t wake until 5:30 and after her feed went back to sleep until 9! I feel like that’s some ridiculous sleeping and I’m just worried she is sleeping too much 😂 never thought I’d be saying this or hoping she would wake up more through the night, but it seems odd at her age for her to sleep that long through the night. She has been quite cranky today which is what’s making me wonder if it’s because she slept so much last night.
Anyone else had this?

Definitely not sleeping too much. She’s probably going through a bit development and needing the sleep. Plus the heat doesn’t help! I would take the long stretches while you can as they might change! 😅

honestly it’s been amazing 😂 we went on our first night away last night and I was worried she wouldn’t sleep well in a new place or new cot and she slept exactly the same just like a champ!x

my baby is just under 10 weeks and has slept from around 10pm to about 6:30/7am ever since she was about 7/8 weeks old, she naps 3/4 times a day as well, sometimes when she’s up at 6:30 i’ll give her a bottle change her and she sleeps til about 10/11 but she’s very awake for most of the day she’ll be awake anywhere between 3/4 hours before she decides to nap, and she’s usually awake for about 2/3 hours before we put her to bed so maybe that’s why x

oh wow 🥰that’s great, think I was just worried because she essentially slept from about 7ish last night to 9 this morning 😅 wish I could sleep that long 😂x

We’ve always found that our daughter’s sleep in the car isn’t as good quality as at home/in a cot/crib. Even if she seems to sleep a lot in the car she’s more tired after than we would expect. Maybe it’s a similar thing for your daughter? Xx

the first few times she slept through i kept checking on her cause i didn’t think she was supposed to sleep that long and i bought it up with our hv and she said it was fine and that its not an issue since shes still developing fine and growing well, so as long as your lo is fine then i wouldnt worry too much xx

Some babies are just great sleepers. It freaked me out when mine did around 8 weeks, now with 7 months and 2 sleep regressions / leaps under our belts, I enjoy the rest while I can. 😂

Honestly as long as she's alert and seems happy when she is awake, she's fine!

I think you’re definitely right 😊 thankyou x

turns out the reason she was so cranky was because she was coming down with a cold!!!😢😢 it’s her first cold and I feel useless ☹️

Ms Rachel ??

How many of you are putting ms Rachel on??? I’ve just introduced it to my 8 month old and it’s like sorcery. I feel so guilty putting it on because LO don’t take his eyes off the screen, but it’s the only way I’m getting 20/30 minutes during Velcro baby stage. I’ll put it on twice a day for up to 30 mins at a time, the rest of the time we’re out the house, playing with toys or he’s with me doing jobs around the house. Should I even feel guilty?😩

Leaky nappy advice

We use mamia nappies and have had no issue until now. We are using size 3 but she is leaking through them every night as she sleeps through the night. We’ve tried 4+ for night but they are still too big. Does anyone have any advice or any other brand that might hold more in a size 3?

Thoughts on this pram?

I’m 18 weeks pregnant and thinking of prams to get my baby. I saw this on Amazon and it seems affordable, plus the reviews are very positive about the quality of the product. Are there any mamas in the group that got this specific model? If so, how did you find it?

Toddler tippy toeing

My daughter is two been tippy toeing ever since shes learned how to walk. Not sure if it’s a phase or if it’s autism. If it helps shes also a really active baby. Has anyone experienced this with their toddler?

TBH

To be honest- I’m starting to hate that my husband gets to sleep peacefully , getting virtually uninterrupted sleep, while I’m being woken up every other moment by our 5 month old 🙃 I’m so so tired, my body hurts, and I have a little cold that won’t go away. My baby sleeps next to me and feeds on demand (it’s my fault, I know). I tried to regulate him without the boob, tonight, and he started crying. My husband tried to soothe him for less than a minute, but I took him back when I saw my husband was getting irritated by him crying. I ended up feeding him until he was mostly asleep, now he’s sleeping on my chest. I’m awake, I have to use the bathroom, and forgot to take my contacts out, and put nursing pads in, but I’m stuck. Meanwhile, my husband went back to sleep immediately 😮‍💨😤 how do people do this long term? 😩
