Sertraline (Zoloft)

I started taking 50mg of sertraline 2 weeks ago now, I’ve been feeling super anxious for no reason, it’s my 14th day today & I’ve felt it the most.

Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? If so, when did it get better?

Thank you🥰

Thank you!!! I’ve got a follow up in 2 weeks so I’ll definitely mention it if it doesn’t get better

I had major anxiety and disassociation with Zoloft. It may not be for you.

When I was on Zoloft I was severely anxious and it got to the point I needed to go to the hospital. I'm much better on paxil

I’m afraid of taking medication’s because of the anxiety increase as if I don’t already have enough. A lot of lavender oil here. Flower power. Good luck sister. My sister when on it is now missing from her home. God send help.

It took about a month for me to adjust to it, then you could see a big difference. Everyone is different, could need more time, dose change or med change.

Whatever you do, DO NOT stop taking it cold turkey. I got brain zaps so fucking bad. I can’t explain the feeling other than literal brain zaps.

I am on that journey too. It made me super anxious three days after taking it but now it comes and goes. The only thing I hate is when I wake up in the morning I feel jittery. I would also suggest while you are going through this process learn some grounding techniques. I do a guided meditation in the morning and night and I try to get it in the afternoon too. It has really help me get a break from it which is something that is helpful to keep up the fight.

Started same med and dosage a little further into my pregnancy. Was on Prozac, but switched for the sake of BF. I personally and SURPRISINGLY didn’t feel anxiety. Before pregnancy, my baseline was like, two steps away from an anxiety attack. Seriously. I’m a big worrier and get anxious over nothing. I also have some diagnoses going on as well. So this has been very surprising to say the least. It may need some time to get into your system and your body get used to it! It may be too soon to really know. If you need another med, no worries! Plenty out there. Not every medication jives with everyone. But I do hope it ends up working out for ya!

Increased anxiety and low mood are often worse before they get better keep pushing on unless otherwise told to stop by ur doctor...its nor.al to feel worse before better

Avatar

When I started tablets like this they told me it can take up to 6 weeks before it starts to regulate and told me I’ll probably feel worse before i get better, so try and keep that in mind but if it gets to unbearable give them a ring for reassurance xx

My first three weeks on sertraline were horrible everything felt worse but once I got through those first three everything felt much better x

Always give any ssri or snri 8 weeks before you decide to switch. Be sure to share with your health care provider and keep going. Every time you start a new dose you start the 8 weeks over. Often it gets worse before better. If it doesn't it may not be the right med for you and there are many. Hang in there it does and WILL get better 🫂🫂

Could it be because of your monthlies? I know my hormones change a few days before. I'm on the mini pill and that's helped me stay calm during the day

, how are you feeling about Zokoft after a month? Have you improved at all?
