Anyone tried their LO with pouches yet my boy is 4 months old today and thinking of trying him with some as I think he'll be fine as he's pure chunk 🤣

My LO will be 4months next week and I’ve bought her some pouches (little ones by sainsburys and also Hipp Organic) and I also bought a Tommee Tippee Baby blender to do her some bits too.
I found when shopping not many brands do purees for 4+

My LG is 16 weeks at the moment, officially 4 months on the 13th, so I'm going to start her with some then - bought some smooth baby rice and some Sainsbury's 4+ single veg pouches, and one Ella's kitchen one :)

My LG turned 4 months the other day and I’ve started trying her on Ella’s kitchen ones, but getting her used to tastes first rather then getting into a routine with it just yet. But she loves the new tastes and textures!! And it stops her from knicking our food 😂🙈

I started at 4 months with my first born and I wish I hadn't bothered, there was no need at all. My little girl is 4 months on the 13th and I'm waiting until she's 6 months and going straight into BLW

I'll be waiting until 6months, it's just not worth the risk in my opinion. Plus weaning is a messy faff that I'm in no hurry to take part in

My LB was 4 months last week. I have started with some smooth baby rice (1 teaspoon) in the morning. He is also teething so I have frozen some of the Ella pouches (banana flavour) into fruit containers and he is having one of the segments a day. He is really enjoying the new textures and tastes. For those that want to say I am wrong to feed him already, every baby is different and mine weighs 8.7kg (19lbs), sits perfectly upright too and is looking at food all the time. It feels right for me right now.

which baby rice are you using? And do you use milk to make it? My LO is formula fed. 🙈

also, I’m so glad you put that last bit. I totally agree!!

I’m using Kendamil smooth baby rice. It seems really good quality and he enjoys it.

My lg been on food since she was 3 months and loves it Ella’s kitchen is good to have they have a good variety for 4+ months but I make my own I bought a steamer and blender she loves baba porridge I buy the Heinz ton from Asda

Yeah I was the same with my little girl she can sit up on her own now just turned 4months this week but started her with food at 3months she is loving all the different foods

My first was started with purees at 4m because she was very forward and obviously ready. I used Ella's and homemade purees. I started quite slow though as it's still considered early. It wasn't an everyday thing, and wasn't a meal substitute, more of just a taste here and there. Start with single ingredient purees, same one for a few days so you know there's no reactions/allergies. I didn't give rice or cereals until later. No nuts, eggs or anything known to cause allergies until 6m+. Start with veggies and preferably not sweet ones as they can quite quickly get a sweet tooth and become fussy eaters. My little man's no where near ready yet so he'll probably be closer to 6m I reckon, even though he's a hungry baby so the HV said I might have to consider weaning him early. I'm not going to push him. I follow them and their ques, not the other way around 😊

what’s the best way to do your own purées hun? Literally just steam veg on its own and blitz? I’m getting her started with Ella’s kitchen but don’t want it to be permanent x

Yeah, steam or boil, steams better for nutrients. No salt. If it's too thick when you blend them either add a little water or their milk. I'd freeze some in icecube trays so I had a portion size ready to be heated whenever 😊 x
